Tommy Phan is a successful detective novelist living the American Dream in southern California. One evening he comes home to find a small rag doll on his doorstep. It’s a simple doll, covered entirely in white cloth, with crossed black stitches for the eyes and mouth, and another pair forming an X over the heart. Curious, he brings it inside. This is an absolutely terrifying novel written by Dean Koontz.I first read it back in 2000.It terrified me then and it terrifies me now when i read it again.Highly recommended if you enjoy a good horror read. These are the kind of novels that are more effective when read, rather than seeing it on film.I'm pretty sure if they decided to make this novel into a motion picture,it would ruin the terror of it. Here is a link on amazon if you are interested in buying the book... www.amazon.com/Tick-Tock-Dean-Koontz/dp/0553582925/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1341827770&sr=8-3&keywords=Tick+TockOnly 8 bucks, not bad.

- Dean Koontz is a great writer.Have you read any of his other books? If you haven't read the odd Thomas series, you should give them a try.

I haven't read this one yet, but I think I will. I love Dean Koontz. His Frankenstein series is pretty good, too.

- I'm half way through the book and i'm not that impressed. Not saying its a bad book, just seems a little rushed towards the middle. The story reminds me a lot of Child's Play.

I'm through the first four chapters of the book, and I gotta say....this one is scaring the bejebus out of me. I absolutely love Dean Koontz's writing style, for me it is really easy to slip into the story and picture what he is writing about. Gonna try a few more chapters if I can make it today, but just had to say that I'm loving the book so far. Thanks for suggesting it, Xч.
